Welcome

Mark Knight Pottery

The Mark Knight pottery studio is located in Hobart, Tasmania having been established in 1981.

Mark’s work and styles have been influenced by his environment, especially the landscape of Tasmania.

Mark currently produces 4 distinct ranges of handcrafted Tasmanian pottery:

  • The Crystalline Range was developed because of Mark’s fascination with the random and unpredictable growth of crystals during the firing and cooling process. He continues to experiment with the glazes and techniques required to produce this work.
  • Tasmanian Mountain Range has grown with his travels around the island.
  • The stylised Butterfly Range has been the stalwart of Mark’s production ware.
  • The Pebble Range combines texture and decoration to create tactile and interesting patterns.

Items within these pottery ranges continue to grow to include everything from vases to side plates, dinner plates, mugs, sugar bowls, cutlery holders, salad bowls, spoon rests, jugs, beautiful non drip tea pots to large garden bells and stunning platters.
